It is impossible for others to understand the intense guilt and despair that parents feel when our child doesn't achieve in a standard way or in the way that the child wishes. Doctors mean well, but can sometimes intensify guilt or squash the last particle of our hope. Thank you for giving me some wiggle room and allowing me to enjoy my daughter in this moment.
